Horse-meat Testing

A tounge-in-check illustrative photo to illustrate a news story.

This project was made after the revelations that meat sold in the UK may have contained elements of horsemeat.
Many meat products were then tested for horse DNA, which I wanted to illustrate in a lighthearted photograph.
I constructed a 'meat horse'  to quickly and visually symbolise the story. I made a horse template in illustrator creating several revisions to get the best structure, while retaining the recognisable shape of a horse.
The photos were cleaned up in Photoshop to tidy the shapes outline, and adjust the colour of the glove to be more clinical looking.
The pictures ran on several UK and European news websites.
